Campanula glomerata Superba ground cover plants are the ideal plant for almost any garden style. An abundance of gorgeous, dense clustered heads of large, rich purple, bell-shaped flowers appear from May on tall stems that rise above rosettes of oval, fresh mid-green leaves. These are striking plants that are incredibly free flowering.
Hugely popular due to their long flowering period from May to August, they are amazingly versatile, performing best in full sun, they will also be quite happy in partial shade, and will thrive in any well-drained soil. Great at the front of beds and borders or as edging along paths, in a gravel garden or spilling over walls. Clump forming and very easy to grow, Campanula glomerata Superba ground cover will quickly develop into weed supressing cover filled with masses of flowers. Bees and butterflies love them, so they also make a wonderful addition to a wildlife garden. Try planting with Lychnis, Hardy Geraniums, or with Crocosmia as a contrast for a ‘hot’ planting effect.

Low maintenance, Campanula glomerata Superba (Bellflower) ground cover can be planted in normal, sandy or clay soils that is moist and well-drained. They are pretty drought resistant but are happiest with a regular supply of water during dry summers. For best results plant them in full sun in fertile well-drained soil (they will tolerate semi-shade but may produce less flowers). Deadhead any spent flowers to help prolong the flowering season. They will die back down to ground level in winter when you can trim off any straggly dead foliage ready for the following Spring.
