Low maintenance, Campanula glomerata Superba (Bellflower) ground cover can be planted in normal, sandy or clay soils that is moist and well-drained. They are pretty drought resistant but are happiest with a regular supply of water during dry summers.  For best results plant them in full sun in fertile well-drained soil (they will tolerate semi-shade but may produce less flowers). Deadhead any spent flowers to help prolong the flowering season. They will die back down to ground level in winter when you can trim off any straggly dead foliage ready for the following Spring.
