Oaks (Quercus) are widely recognised as one of the most regal and majestic looking trees in the world, giving a magnificent appearance to gardens and outdoor spaces. They boast dark green leaves with a glossy appearance, with some variations having toothed or soft, downy textures underneath. It is a native tree with highly valued timber, often found in parkland and hedge rows.
Oaks are great for hedging thanks to how well they respond to being clipped, making them a good choice for those looking for a dense, maintainable hedging plant. It makes a particularly good choice for coastal areas, where its structure can help it to form a wind-resistant hedge. One thing to consider, however, is that when oaks are young they will require some protection from weather extremes in order to bring out the best in them.
Currently at Hopes Grove Nurseries we stock three varieties of Oak (Quercus), all of which feature a broad dome shaped head when grown, helping to add a regal look to this beautiful traditional tree. All Oak hedging plants come from our family-run nursery in Kent, which means we can guarantee that they have been well looked after. This means they will thrive when you come to planting them in your home or landscaping project, and offer you lasting beauty for years to come.
We stock a range of oak plants throughout the year including Quercus robur, Quercus ilex and Quercus Robra.
